                - Dedicated 40 years service to the Grand Lake Figure Skating Club (GLFSC ).

- The GLFSC was established in the early 1970’s. Aroon held an Executive position from the onset. Her most demanding
Executive position was that of Test Chair where she was responsible for assessing the talent level of local skaters.

- She retired from her position as President in 2017.

- Aroon’s involvement in the GLFSC extended far beyond her position on the Executive.  She has sewn countless show
and competition costumes, provided skates and tights to  those in need of them , driven skaters to and from
practices and competitions , supported fund-raising activities , and mentored and supported her successors .

     - Aroon’s passion for figure skating seemingly has no bounds. With the support of her husband Eric, she has nurtured
skating ability in her children and grandchildren. Recognizing that her skating family extended beyond her own ,
Aroon fostered a true feeling of family and community at the arena. She could often be seen at arena rink
sides throughout the province cheering for many of “ her kids “. 

- Today , the Grand Lake Figure Skating Club continues to thrive due to Aroon’s passion, dedication ,
and contributions to the program.
