ALPHIE LANDRY Athlete - Pole Vaulting 1953-55 - Member of the Minto High Track and Field team. - Held the New Brunswick High School Pole Vaulting Record for 3 years. - Placed 1^st in the Pole Vaulting event at an invitational Track and Field meet at the University of Maine . He cleared a personal best height of 11’ 2”. 1955 - Participated in the Canadian Legion Track and Field meet in Toronto. Placed 2^nd in the Pole Vault event to a more experienced competitor from the USA . Alphie was the top Canadian performer. - During his last 2 years of high school , Alphie was a member of the Minto High School Cross Country and Soccer teams .
