-   Incorporated in July, 2008

-  Consists of volunteers that promote / support recreation activities in Grand Lake West

-   2008-2014  -  Leased the Grand Lake Provincial Park to manage the beach and adjacent field as

a day use area for public recreational activities.

-   2015 -2022  - Offered a soccer program at Douglas Harbour attracting 106 participants (ages 2-15 )

-   2015-2016 – Offered a softball program ( ages 5-15 )

-   In partnership with the Douglas Harbour Community Center , the GLWRC supports the following

activities for all ages: Line Dancing, Yoga, Baby/Toddler Play Group, Boot Camp, Dog Walking, Mom’s Workout Group, Summer Recreation Program, Sewing, Bridge, and 45’s

 

-   Supports many family/community events including Summer Celebrations, Halloween, Fall Frolics,

Christmas Celebration, and Winter Fest.

-   2021 – Received a Community Development Grant and NB Sport Equipment Grant for the construction

of a multi-purpose recreation pad. It has provided a place for such recreation activities as basketball,

street hockey, and pickleball.

-   2024  - Construction of 2 additional Senior pickleball courts spearheaded by the Douglas Harbour

Pickleball Group.
