This Maritime Championship was a first
for a girl’s team from Minto .
- The girls defeated Oromocto and Woodstock to advance to the Provincial final and defeated -In the Maritime Championship , Minto defeated teams from Nova Scotia and PEI to claim the title. - A banquet was held at Holy Rosary Hall to honour the Maritime Midget Girls Champions. Cheryl Chase (Quigley), Debbie Flewelling (Chezenko), Wanda Kennedy (Hallett), Judy Molnar, Jeannette Robichaud (Matthews), Nola Sivitilli (Lynch), Rita Sivitilli, Cathy Vandenbroeck (Kiervin), Elizabeth Zamora.
