CHARLIE NICHOLS

Baseball

• 1929 - Began baseball career with Fredericton Juniors

• 1931-34  - Played Senior ball with Fredericton and established  himself as the premiere  pitcher in New Brunswick

• 1935-39  -  Played with Minto Miners and completely dominated opposing batters, throwing no - hitters and regularly striking out more than 12 /game. On one occasion,                 Charlie struck out 18 and lost 4-3

• 1939 - Invited to a tryout with Cincinnati Reds. He was offered a Minor League contract but opted to return to Minto.

• 1990 -  Inducted into the New Brunswick Baseball Hall of Fame

• 1991 -  Nominated for Induction in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame
